About Me I am a philosopher specialising in ethics and political thought.
The main focus of my work is freedom in history, theory, and practice. I also have interests in civic republicanism, critical theory, disability, and metaethics. In much of my research, I draw on the history of philosophy to help make sense of contemporary ethical and political problems. My current research concentrates on three main areas:
I am a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Roehampton, where I teach courses in ethics and political philosophy. Prior to this, I was a lecturer in political philosophy at the University of York, a postdoctoral researcher on the interdisciplinary Essex Autonomy Project, and a doctoral student in philosophy at the University of Sheffield.
